  • What is the difference between Woundtech providers and nurses from home health agencies?

Woundtech providers are advanced practitioners, such as Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Podiatrists (DPMs), who specialize in advanced wound care. They are trained to independently assess wounds, develop treatment plans, perform procedures like debridement, and prescribe medications as needed.

In contrast, home health nurses primarily follow treatment orders from physicians or advanced practitioners. Their scope of care typically includes wound dressing changes and notifying the treating provider if changes in the wound condition are observed. Woundtech providers ensure comprehensive, hands-on wound care management directly in the patient's home, offering a higher level of expertise and care coordination.
